Nextcloud consulting and setup for businesses
Secure file storage, clear user and permission concepts, sensible app selection instead of plugin sprawl — and an honest assessment of whether Nextcloud fits your specific case.
What this is about
Nextcloud is an open-source platform for file storage, sharing, calendar, contacts, and collaboration. Set up correctly, it can be a sovereign alternative or complement to Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or Dropbox — especially where data sovereignty, clear permission structures, or reducing vendor lock-in matter.
Set up poorly, Nextcloud quickly becomes messy: too many apps, unclear sharing, missing backups. Cebesco builds Nextcloud environments that are understandable, maintainable, and tailored to what you actually need.
Who this is relevant for
- Small and medium-sized businesses that take data sovereignty seriously
- Engineering offices, technical service providers, skilled trades businesses
- Associations and education providers with clear role and permission requirements
- Companies that want to review, complement, or partially replace Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or Dropbox
What Cebesco actually does
- Setup and configuration of Nextcloud on suitable infrastructure
- Users, groups, and permissions: clearly structured, traceably documented
- File storage and sharing structures that fit your real daily work
- Calendar, contacts, and synchronisation with desktop and mobile
- Office integration with Collabora or OnlyOffice where it makes sense
- External shares for customers, partners, or contractors — controlled and logged
- A sensible app selection instead of plugin sprawl
- Technical documentation others can actually read and maintain
How a typical project runs
- Inventory of current file storage, cloud services, and permission structures
- Realistic assessment of whether and to what extent Nextcloud fits your case
- Concept for users, groups, folder structure, and sharing
- Setup and configuration with a test phase before rollout
- Handover with documentation, briefing, and defined post-launch support
Where Nextcloud is not the right tool
Not every environment benefits from introducing Nextcloud. If your workflows depend heavily on specific Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace features — for example deeply integrated Teams workflows or particular administrative add-ins — a full replacement is rarely the best path. In such cases Cebesco recommends using Nextcloud for selected areas and leaving the rest untouched.
